The Amador County Tourism Marketing District (ACTMD) is an assessment district being formed by the Amador Council of Tourism (ACT) to provide marketing and sales promotion funding for assessed lodging partners in Amador County. The Proposed ACTMD includes all lodging businesses (including short term vacation rentals) within the boundaries of the County of Amador.

The initial ACTMD budget is expected to be $200,000 per year based on a 2% assessment of gross short-term room rental revenue. Lodging businesses will be able to pass the assessment fee on to their guests. A third party collection agency will collect the TMD funds. ACT will have an additional $110,000 budget from the Amador County Transient Occupancy Tax (TOT) funding to support non-lodging and community interests in the County.

The Proposed ACTMD will have a 5 year duration. The Amador Council of Tourism (ACT) will serve as the ACTMD’s Owner’s Association. The Owner’s Association is charged with managing the funds and implementing programs in accordance with this plan. ACT will work closely with the Amador Wine Heritage District currently being launched to maximize Amador County destination marketing results.
